Abstract

Excerpts: In 1920, several bureaus of the United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of the Interior adopted a general program for a comprehensive study of the agriculture of the Great Plains region. Following is a summary of the information given by 135 farmers in Sherman, Thomas, and Finney counties in western Kansas. General information as to the farm business for the year ending March 1, 1923, is presented, as well as certain of the more important steps in the history of the agricultural development of the region.
