Abstract
This article analyses the impact of agro-climatic shocks on the food security of rural households in Senegal using an ordered probit model. The food consumption score method is employed to assess the state of household food security. The study reveals that 14% of rural households have low food consumption, 17% have borderline food consumption, and 69% have acceptable food consumption. The findings also indicate that shocks related to rising agricultural input prices and off-season rains increase the vulnerability of rural farming households to food insecurity.
