Abstract

Food security and food safety pose numerous challenges to agricultural production, which require the ability and skill to adapt in addition to technological development. The role of the human factor goes far beyond technological knowledge; consumer habits, social values and their changes, and social innovations must also serve sustainability. In agricultural production, the correct application of technologies based on knowledge of the given system and the development of an appropriate production strategy are essential conditions for sustainable operation at the farm evel (economic), but development is unthinkable today without the adaptation of agricultural digitalization and climate-oriented smart agriculture solutions. The local economy forms the basis for the development of livable loca communities (social sustainability), which must be closely linked to environmental sustainable development in the broader sense. The study explores the above theoretical framework based on the literature, emphasizing the issues of Agriculture 4.0 and climate-oriented smart agriculture (CSA) along with agricultural digitalization. Based on the synthesis of the literature, the most important finding is that a paradigm shift is needed in all areas of life compared to the previous growth-centric and consumption-promoting thinking. The direction of innovation should be towards the rational use of limited resources, both socially and economically.
