Abstract
The major geopolitical characteristic of the aftermath of the Uruguay Round is the esistence of an Euro-American cooperation. Trough informal arrangements, it covers all the practical problems arising from the Marrakech agricultural agreement enforcement. This reconciliation is a consequence of the similarity of agricultural situations on both sides. But its future is still uncertain. Because it is founded on a partial compromise, only centered on the homogénéisation of national agricultural policies, the US/EC alliance is fragile. Between cartel and competition, both the US and the European union are deprived of any new project regarding the world agricultural markets organization.
