Abstract
Ivory Coast must now face the problem of food self-sufficiency. With steady urbanization, growth of personal income, low price for rice take place new food consumption habits. The most important result of that situation is the rapid rate of increase of cereals importations. On the other hand, foodcrops do not grow at the same rate because they are not up to now seriously supported by the government (stagnant productivity, lackness of attractive and stable prices). Finally private marketing channels perform well enough, but their means are not really adequate and shorten their efficiency.
