Abstract
Excerpt: Live-stock breeders in the United States, like all agricultural producers, are manifesting a lively interest in world markets. They are especially interested in the possibilities of exporting cattle, sheep, and hogs to South America. Some knowledge of the present development of the industry there and of the types and qualities of live stock desired by South American stockmen is necessary to enable breeders in this country to plan their operations intelligently. The following observations and suggestions are based on personal investigations made by representatives of the United States Department of Agriculture in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Chile.
