Excerpts from the Preface: This list of research publications produced or sponsored by the Economic Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, is designed as a source of reference for the published materials of the Service during the period 1961 through 1965. It includes citations for four of the five ERS domestic research divisions (formerly available as ERS-350); and for the two ERS foreign research divisions (formerly available as ERS-Foreign 167). A few foreign research reports present results of research performed by the Foreign Agricultural Service prior to organization of ERS in April 1961 and published by ERS. The list is intended to include citations for all published material of more than temporary interest regardless of the form in which published or the current availability. Publications cited consist principally of those issued as parts of Department and Economic Research Service series, periodic reports, and articles in periodicals of the Department and State Experiment Station bulletins, which report results of State-Federal cooperative studies in agricultural economics. Articles in technical and professional journals, both within and outside the Department, are cited as well as proceedings of symposia and conferences which report important ERS research results. For the Foreign Development and Trade Division a large number of analyses, statistical summaries and author name articles in the periodical, "Foreign Agricultural Trade of the U.S.," are indexed by the month of the publication. Publications are grouped by subject-matter areas and by ERS divisions responsible for research in such areas.
