Abstract

Excerpts from the report: Florida is one of the most important States producing vegetables for the fresh market. In 1961, it ranked second only to California in acreage, amount of production, and value of production. Vegetables are grown throughout the State, but the area composed of Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach Counties is the most important from the standpoint of acreage and value of sales. This is the third in a series of 12 publications containing information on labor requirements, production practices, and costs involved in the production of truck crops for fresh market and for processing. The information in this series was obtained from 146 producers in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Florida.
