Abstract

The objective of this study is to grasp the contents of New Zealand's agricultural policy reform and how farmer organization, Federated Farmers of New Zealand participated in the process of those reforms. New Zealand has a very strong agricultural comparative advantage. Thus, agriculture has an important place in the New Zealand economy because of its major contribution to overseas trade. It seems that New Zealand's competitiveness in agricultural sector resulted from the deregulatory reforms. The Federated Farmers of New Zealand(FFNZ) represents various farmer organizations in New Zealand. FFNZ has influenced the agricultural policies through collecting opinions of members.
