Abstract
Malting barley is an important agri-food commodity, both from the viewpoint of economy and agricultural enterprise. Its growing and processing has a rich tradition in Slovakia. If the principles of the agrotechnical and technological proceedings are respected, there is a presumption that high profitability of the malting barley production and processing can be achieved on all levels of the marketing vertical. Lately its formation has substantially been affected by the intergration of primary agricultural producers and processors. As a consequence, this advantageous process has a positive impact on quality as well as price of the final product.
