Abstract
The purpose of the article was to study the effectiveness of state regulation of the organizational and economic mechanism for the formation of a financial support system for the development of consumer co-operation in Ukraine in modern conditions. The main shortcomings of the state regulation of financial support for the development of consumer co-operation of Ukraine have been identified. The practice of modern state regulation has been investigated and it has been established that the system of state regulation of financial support for the development of the consumer co-operation system consists of subjects, objects, methods and instruments of state regulation. According to the results of the study, it is determined that the forms of state support in this sphere should be financially-economic, organizational, legal and social. The elements of the SWOT-analysis and the matrix method based on the division into the fields of competitive positioning have been used to determine the promising types of the state financial support of the system of consumer co-operation of Ukraine. This has made it possible to prove that the basic types of public financial support strategies are risky, moderate, active and conservative. This approach allowed to optimize the directions of state financial support for the relevant types of economic activity of the consumer co-operation system of Ukraine.
