Abstract
The aim of the study was to analyze position of Poland on the global milk market, which is one of the
most important food markets in the world. Proves of this constantly increasing milk production, which is a
response to the growing demand for dairy products. The European Union after a period of overproduction of
raw milk has introduced, since 1984, limiting of its production. Despite this, approximately ⅓ of milk outflow
is from UE directed for export. The most important trade partner in the global milk market is Germany
importing over 10% and exporting over 14% of the total dairy located in international trade in the world.
Poland since accession to the EU has significantly improved its position in the global market trade of dairy
products, mainly thanks to competitive prices of raw milk and high-quality products manufactured from it.
As an exporter in 2012 occupied 11th place in terms of the value of exported dairy products.
