Abstract

Results from a random sample of 441 university students suggest that 31.3 percent of the participants read food labels frequently, while 28.6 percent read labels sometimes. The three nutrients read most frequently are calories, total fat, and sugars. Overall, juniors and seniors read labels more fequently than do freshmen and sophmores.
