O objetivo do artigo é verificar a relação entre produção e crédito rural no país, entre 1999 a 2005, para determinadas culturas. Para tanto, estima-se a tendência e calcula-se a correlação entre essas variáveis e; recorre-se às regressões linear e polinomial em painel, para verificar a relação determinística entre a produtividade do crédito rural e a sua taxa de crescimento para as culturas selecionadas. Os resultados evidenciam tendência positiva de crescimento do crédito e da produção para todas as culturas. O coeficiente de correlação em nível nacional para todas as culturas foi positivo e superior a 85%, exceto para o milho(15%) e feijão(53%). As estimativas econométricas mostram relação positiva entre a produtividade do crédito rural e a sua taxa de crescimento para o arroz, fumo e soja. Contudo, para o milho os resultados foram não significativos. Já para o algodão herbáceo, feijão e trigo os coeficientes apresentaram sinais contrários ao esperado a priori.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------This article aims to show the relation between farm credit and productivity in specific kinds of plantation in Brazil from 1999 to 2005, and to carry out this objective a tendency is estimated and the correlation among the variables is calculated using the polynomial and linear regression on framework, to verify a determinist relation between productivity and farm credit and its growing tax to specific agriculture areas. The results emphasize a positive increase to farm credit and productivity in the selected plantations. The national correlation coefficient was positive in all kinds of plantations, and scores more than 85% except corn (15%) and beans (53%). The econometric estimate shows a positive relation between farm credit and productivity and its growing tax to rice, tobacco, and soy. However the results were not significant to corn but herbaceous cotton, beans and wheat the coefficient did not correspond to the expectation.
