The production technology used by coffee producers in Coatepec, Veracruz, México, is described, from a sample of 72 producers to whom a questionnaire was applied. The results indicated that coffee producers are of an advanced age and low schooling. Their plantations are characterized by having low plant density ha1, scarce fertilization, pest control, reduced training and technical advice, which was indicative of low adoption of technology.
