Abstract

Agroindustrial residues constitute a serious problem at the global level, impacting directly on climate change, since their final disposition is carried out in open-air landfills or in water bodies. Some studies indicate that an adequate use of agroindustrial residues could have an impact on agricultural productivity and soil fertility through composting, generating a useful product, contributing to improving the physical, chemical and biological quality of soils, in addition to increasing organic matter and its fertility. In this study, the potential, management and use of agroindustrial residues is highlighted, taking into account that composting can produce useful products to the soil, in addition to the reduction of environmental risk.
