Abstract

The unequal development between rural territories continues to be one of the main concerns of the state of Chihuahua, for artisan women, it appears strongly in issues related to local economic development within the Ejido San Rafael, Urique, for ancestral knowledge, a transformer of the raw material and being the family economic carrier. In this research, the regional economic development that is generated around artisanal sales was analyzed. The project was carried out project was carried out within the first half of 2021, with women artisans from the ejido San Rafael, Urique, Chihuahua, Mexico. For this purpose, quantitative descriptive methods were used, 15 oral histories were collected, under the open categorization procedure; as techniques, a semi-structured survey was designed, and interviews were planned. The results show the contribution of crafts to the economic impact in the tourist regions near the ejido, the autonomy of women in decision-making and economic development of the locality through crafts.
