Abstract
Program of poverty alleviation support is to improve the rural community welfare, using production and purchasing power (expenditure) instruments to increasing the welfare of farm household. The study objectives are to: (1) identify the source, type, number of poverty alleviation support received by farm households, (2) analyze the costs, revenues, and farm income, and (3) analyze income and andexpenditure (welfare indicators) of farm households. The research in South Central Timor distric (Kualin and Nulle Villages) and Kupang District (Ponain and Tesabela Villages) NTT Province were selected purposively which is the central areas of the cattle population and households recipient of credit schemes and capital support, with number of sample is 165 households. Sources of credit received by farm households are from bank loans (public and non-public), and capital support from government (central and local) and non-governmental institutions. The value of credit and capital support that received by farm households in the Tesabela village is the highest but the allocation for the farming cost is the lowest. The highest farm income is in the Kualin village that mainly from the livestock business income (44%), while the highest total farm household income is in the Ponain village that mainly from non-agricultural businesses income. The highest total household expenditure (welfare) is in the Tesabela village that mainly allocation for investment expenditure (49%), while the lowest total household expenditure is in the Kualin village but allocation for consumption expenditure is the highest (51%).
