Abstract
The aim of this article was to present the general plan of the commune as a potential tool for protecting agricultural land. The reason for taking up this topic was the amendment of legal regulations, introduced in 2023 in accordance with the Act amending the Act on spatial planning and development and certain other acts of 24 July 2023. The article attempts to characterize legal regulations and their impact on increasing the protection of agricultural land. Legal provisions that regulate the principles of shaping spatial planning and development policies from the perspective of agricultural land protection were presented.
