Abstract

The per capita consumption of wine in Mexico is low compared to other countries such as Portugal, France and Spain, where annual consumption per person is greater than 40 liters. However, in recent years, consumption by Mexicans has been increasing, reaching a per capita intake of 1lt, which is favorable and promising for the Mexican wine industry. The objective of the present study was to know the acceptance of wine, as well as tastes and preferences of Chihuahua in alcoholic beverages. To this end, a probabilistic survey was carried out on 428 people over 18 years of age, using the digital form platform Google Forms, disseminated on social networks. A descriptive and inferential analysis was carried out, and the data analysis was using Microsoft Office Excel 2019. Where it turned out that the alcoholic beverage of greatest choice was beer (of 10 options), while wine was in fifth place, preferably Cabernet Sauvignon variety, of Mexican origin. More and more, wine is becoming one of the favorites of Chihuahua, becoming a competing state in the wine world.
