Abstract

Farmers in the Rice Belt of Texas have been wide awake trying to figure how the expensive growing of rice might cash flow after the demise of subsidies under the farm bill. It looks like they might have come up with an idea that could work. An alternative crop seems to be a possibility: sugar cane.
