This summary is a compendium of National Average Support Prices, Average Prices to Farmers and Average Market Prices by commodity for selected commodities. The support prices and average prices to farmers were taken from the ASCS Information Division Fact Sheets. The average market prices used are those reported officially by Consumer and Marketing Service, Statistical Reporting Service, or Economic Research Service. Insofar as possible, market price data supplied by C&MS, SRS, and ERS were prices for the principal classes or grades of commodities at the leading markets or f.o.b. points near the areas of production. These prices are intended to reflect the amount received from the sale of the bulk of these commodities at these locations during the applicable years.
