Abstract
Agricultural policy analysis required integrated information sets, information management, and analytical capabilities. The intent of the area-frame project is to provide a method of obtaining statistical information at the national or subnational levels on current performance and economic characteristics of the agricultural sector. The CRIES project obtains information to identify the quality, quantity, use, and adaptability of natural resources and the development of management and analytical capabilities to analyze options for resource use. The basic concepts used by each project are reviewed to provide a basis for making recommendations for coordination in countries requesting technical assistance.
