Excerpts from the report: Objectives of the study reported here are: (1) To describe the organization and operation of wool pools and their marketing policies, services, and practices; (2) to determine the importance of wool pools in wool marketing; (3) to ascertain operating costs by function and by volume of business; (4) to ascertain attitudes of producers and buyers; (5) to determine opportunities for improving organization, policies, and operating services and practices; and (6) to evaluate the efficiency of wool pools as related to price determination, marketing, producer incomes, and other services. A primary purpose of this report is to furnish information about wool pools as a mechanism in wool marketing.
