Abstract

Excerpts from the report: Cooperative fumigation studies were conducted to determine the dosage rate of aluminum phosphide tablets and the exposure time necessary to kill 100 percent of the larvae of the pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders)) in cottonseed. The work was done at Mesa, Ariz., Manhattan, Kans., and Chickasha, Okla. The findings of these studies were used to establish a schedule in the regulatory program of the Plant Protection Division, Agricultural Research Service, to permit movement of cottonseed out of pink bollworm quarantine areas.
