Abstract

Excerpts from the report Preface: This report is based on information from tests using aeration systems that were designed and installed for research studies and from commercially installed aeration systems. The purpose of this publication is to present information on suitable systems to effectively aerate grain in the Southeast. Although tests were conducted on wheat, corn and oats, the same guiding principles can be applied when aerating other grains. Information is included on the most advantageous time for operating aeration systems, when the desirable weather conditions are most likely to occur, and how much aeration is needed for certain grain storage conditions.
