Abstract

Excerpts from the report Preface: This report concerns the practices of renderers of inedible animal fats in Pennsylvania and Minnesota. It describes the collection, production, and marketing of these fats in 1956. This study is a phase of the research being conducted on the marketing of inedible animal fats and oils and is part of a broad program being conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture to help improve the marketing of primary agricultural products. Widespread interest by producers and users of animal fats and oils prompted this study. It is directed toward those engaged in the production of inedible tallow and greases and to others who may wish to engage in further research on animal fats.
