Abstract

Excerpt from the report Summary: The findings of the analysis presented in this report indicate that the present productive capacity of agriculture is sufficient to meet the projected 1975 needs of the United States population for food and fiber and to provide for a relatively high level of exports, at the same or lower relative prices than in 1951-53. This conclusion assumes that the research and extension efforts required to achieve and maintain per acre yields at the projected attainable levels will be forthcoming.
