Abstract

Excerpt from the report Introduction: This survey was designed as a pilot study of the preferences of consumers in private households regarding citrus fruits and their products. The interviewing technique was such that, in addition to obtaining data on the use of citrus products, the consumers' knowledge of and attitudes toward these products could be learned. Although the results of this pilot study are not representative of the national picture, within its scope the survey is both comprehensive and intensive. It is comprehensive because it covers both fresh and processed citrus products and the sample is representative of the particular areas involved. It is intensive because it provides insight into the dynamics of positive and negative reactions of consumers to citrus products.
