Abstract

Rice growth stage was observed by measurements of chlorophyll content, spectral reflectance by spectro-radiometer, DMC and MODIS data. Ground measurement data and satellite image analysis show that the time and NDVI range to distinguish rice growth stages from planting to harvest stage. In according to NDVI changes during the growth season, it is suggested to distinguish 4 stages as rice planting (NDVI~0.2), vegetative phase (NDVI 0.2~ 0.7), reproduction phase( NDVI 0.75 ~0.9) and ripening and harvest phase (NDVI ~ 0.4). In the research, constellation satellite data have promising results and good potential in rice monitoring technology. The measurement of chlorophyll content of rice leaves indicates that it can reach maximum value of ~50 and minimum value of ~10.0 for rice life period. Correlation of SPAD and satellite data has been showed alternative approach to represent satellite NDVI in SPAD chlorophyll content value which is more familiar to rice producers.
