Statutory measures in the egg industry - The effect on food security and employment

Abstract This paper investigates the effect of statutory measures in the Egg Industry on food security and job creation. A non-parametric estimation technique based on the Cobb-Douglas production framework was used in the analysis. The results indicate that statutory levies have a role to play in enhancing food security and job creation within the economy.
