Abstract

Mosquito abatement in coastal regions has become a controversial issue in recent years because of the potential environmental problems related to the use of insecticides and. alterations of marsh areas as abatement activities (Water Resources Research Institute, UNC, 1970). There is concern that these activities may be destroying wildlife and fish habitat that is critical to man's welfare.
