Abstract

Land use planning is a process that involves consideration of known alternatives with respect to allocating the use of land and the selection of a use consistent with declared policy. It is a process of assembling information relating to alternative uses, calculating the private and public consequences of each use and recommending the use or uses with the greatest payoff and least adverse impact on society and the environment.
