This paper will use information contained in structural sup~ly and demand relations for hired labor to examine several characteristics of the agricultural labor market. Specifically, I want (1) to examine how far out . . . of long-run equilibrium the industry has been historically in its use of labor,. and (2) to con.sider briefly some of the changes in. labor use which result from economic forces external to the agricultural labor market.
