Abstract

Cotton fiber properties desirable at the mill level differ considerably by spinning technology and major end-use. This research provides implicit marginal prices by major spinning technology and end-use. The analysis suggests that fiber strength is at least as important as length or grade among mills with ring spinning. Implications for the current cotton fiber grading system are provided.
