Economic and Environmental Aspects of Nonuniform Agricultural Irrigation

This paper studies. the effects of irrigation non uniformity on nitrate leaching and profits for different levels of applied water. Controlling water application as irrigation uniformity increases can lead to reductions in nitrate leaching and sustain relative profits. Water conservation incentives are more effective than direct nitrate reduction incentives.
