EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT OF BIOLOGICALLY DIVERSE TROPICAL FORESTS

Developed in this paper is an optimal control model of the benefits and costs of using tropical forests as a natural repository of species and folk knowledge. It serves as a framework for assessing how market and tenurial incentives influence both deforestation and the collection of ethnobiological information.
