Abstract

Beyond the traditional concerns about an abundant, nutritious, and safe supply of food, consumers are impacted economically by food and agricultural policies. Although the real price of food has fallen, tax costs have risen. How various policies affect food prices and taxes is illus­trated; costs of current policies are projected.
