Abstract
The aim of this study was to demonstrate the diversity of formation of the costs of electricity, heat and
transport fuels. Using the data available in the literature and own research has shown that at the present
stage of development, only energy from waste biomass is able to compete with conventional energy. Past
trends suggest that in the future, thanks to technological progress RES can be competitively priced compared
to conventional sources. Until then require financial support to new technologies can be applied on a scale
sufficient to ensure their profitability.
