Abstract
The paper examines the non-agricultural specialization of predominantly rural subregions in Poland. The
above mentioned specialization was measured by the Krugman Index. It was stated that sector structure of
employed persons, gross value added and business entities resembles the country’s structure. It indicates low
specialization of the predominantly rural subregions in non-agricultural activity. The specialization is mostly
diverse in relation to gross value added. The industry is a dominant area of non-agricultural specialization.
