Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the issue of agricultural sector development in Poland and other countries in the European Union. Attention is focused on the fundamental factors influencing agricultural development, including: employment rate, agriculture’s share in GDP, modernizations and improvement of productivity. The multidimensional scaling method was used to analyze the similarities of agricultural development in the European Union countries. / Streszczenie. W artykule poruszono problem rozwoju sektora rolnego w Polsce i krajach Unii Europejskiej. Zwrócona została uwaga na podstawowe czynniki wpływające na rozwój rolnictwa, między innymi: poziom zatrudnienia, udział rolnictwa w PKB, modernizacje i poprawę produktywności. W celu analizy zachodzących podobieństw rozwoju rolnictwa w państwach Unii Europejskiej wykorzystano metodę skalowania wielowymiarowego.
