Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the development of the organic farming in Poland, in spatial terms, in the period 2004-2012. In the analysed period, the number of agricultural holdings in Poland engaged in organic production increased seven times, while the area on which organic production is conducted – eight times. As it appears from the analyses, organic farming in Poland is most common among agricultural producers from the Warmińsko-Mazurskie province (14.6% of all organic farms in Poland) and the Zachodniopomorskie province (13.8% of all organic farms in Poland). The lowest number of organic farms is in the Opolskie province.
