Abstract
The aim of the study was to present the territorial differentiation of the level of human capital in rural
areas in Poland. The level of human capital has been evaluated using synthetic index, calculated on the basis
of statistical data from 2012 for individual provinces. The highest level of human capital in rural areas was
in provinces: śląskie, małopolskie, pomorskie, wielkopolskie and podkarpackie, while the lowest: podlaskie,
warmińsko-mazurskie and zachodniopomorskie.
