Abstract
Multifunctional role of agriculture and its importance in main strategic documents and
implemental measures of agrarian policy in Slovenia in the period from passing and
enforcement of the Strategy of Slovenian Agriculture to Slovenia’s accession to the
European Union was analysed. Qualitative evaluation comprising the measures of market
price policy and those of structural policy and rural development policy represents the
level of presence of individual elements of multifunctionality in the goals and items of
agrarian policy measures. The collected environmental and productional indicators and
the extent and structure of financial support offered indirectly by the Slovenian
Government to various productional and non-productional functions of agriculture, point
at an increased multifunctional role of agriculture and agrarian policy of Slovenia.
