Abstract

A breakeven approach was employed to analyze feeder cattle prices from Kentucky preconditioned feeder sales. Results suggest efficiency in bidding as the breakeven approach explained most sale price variation and suggested that corn prices have greater impact on prices in the fall when grazing does not provide an alternative.
