Abstract

This poster discusses how different channels of speculation and affect food security in developing countries positively and negatively. As an overall assessment of the different trade-offs does not exist so far, we present a conceptual framework and some of its components to detect global price dynamics that threaten food security in developing countries. We further explore applications of such an information and early warning system in the realm of responsible investment practices and domestic or international relief systems.
