Abstract
Although the MOA/SG program was widely considered to be a success, no formal analysis
had been carried out to determine the farm-level profitability of the program’s improved
technology packages. In September 1997 MOA/SG agreed to collaborate with the Grain Marketing
Research Project (GMRP) and the Department of Agricultural Economics at Michigan State University
(MSU). This paper analyzes the financial returns to the recommended technology packages and
determines the major factors affecting yield response.
