This analysis has been prepared for marketing executives from a report of the Bureau of the Census (Series no, 3), released on February 15, 1944. For convenience in use, it is arranged geographically by Census regions, with an alphabetical list of states in the front. Maps and bar charts at the beginning of each region show changes by States and by wholesale grocery trading areas as defined by the Department of Commerce in Atlas of Wholesale Grocery Trading Areas (1938). The 184 trading areas include all the counties in the United States, and are listed according to the chief center which supplies the area.
