The article is aimed at presenting the determinants that influence obtaining of
the EU funds by communes during the programming period 2004-2006. Intentionally, attention
has been focused on communes, since they actively participated in the use of the
EU support and they are the local government units that gained the largest share of these
funds. Territorial range, on the other hand, includes the Wielkopolska Province due to the
high level of the absorption of EU funds, both from the period 2004-2006 as well as 2007-
-2013.
