After recalling briefly recent studies about relocation of activities in France, on the one hand, and studies about the increase of social differentiations within agriculture, on the other hand, this article elaborates on the hypothesis of a significant matching between different kinds of rural areas and specific logics of development which they would follow. Such a match could lead, to the differentiation of rural space in three socio-spatial groups : specialized rural production areas, depending on the agroindustrial sector, suburban areas becoming attractive and that could valorize the neighborhood of towns and industries, a deep rural area far from these dynamics and becoming marginal.
